The difference between managing and mentoring

Manual workers require management – sometimes micro management.  Knowledge workers work better when provided with mentoring

The difference between managing and mentoring was explained extremely well a couple of weeks ago at a meeting I was attending, by Ron Marsiglio of KnowledgePD.

“The difference between managing and mentoring, is that when you are mentoring, every sentence ends in a question”.

Thanks for that Ron, that’s a fantastic distinction.
